Every Day is a Snow Day
A combination of latitude and altitude extend the winter season in Muskoka, Ontario. While areas farther south cope with slush and drizzle, we can usually count on good snow conditions from December through late March. Winter enthusiasts find lots of ways to use this snow, ending the day's activities in front of cozy fires in their private cottage.
Cross Country Skiing & Snow Shoeing
Our 20km of well-groomed and track-set cross-country ski trails begin right at your door, and snowshoe trails wind through our 600 acres of wilderness. A large (really large!) toboggan hill, snowshoe frisbee golf course, and when conditions permit, an outdoor skating rink on the lake add to the choices.

Ice Fishing on Lake of Bays
Stay with us in our large, comfortable cottages with your cozy fireplace and fish Lake of Bays. Two rivers join in Dwight, making this an ideal spot to fish. Enjoy the open-air or fish in your own pop-up hut when conditions permit. We also have two four-person ice huts with propane heaters, which are subject to availability in the winter. Lake of Bays is home to many fish species including lake trout, smallmouth bass, whitefish, lake herring, and rainbow smelt. We recommend fishing with Williams spoons, tube jigs, or live minnows as bait in the winter.
